Overseas Pakistanis Get Digital Banking Service, Zulfi Bukhari says:
Prime Minister's Special Assistant for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resources Development Sayed Zulfiqar Bukhari announced Sunday that the government has decided to provide a digital banking facility for overseas Pakistanis.
"Overseas Pakistanis will be able to make direct payments and investments in the country," said the premier's assistant, adding that the initiative will be a great investment opportunity for the Pakistani community living abroad.
Bukhari said digital banking has been a long-standing request of the Pakistani diaspora and noted that the overseas Pakistani community wants to become important stakeholders in the country's national development.
He said the plan was designed according to Prime Minister Imran Khan's vision.
In another initiative to facilitate overseas Pakistanis, the federal government decided in June to give jobs to overseas Pakistanis made unemployed and prepared a special portal to facilitate the return of unemployed citizens.
Bukhari had shared the registration link on Twitter as he explained that through the platform, returning Pakistanis would be able to apply for overseas re-employment, certified training, and even register for financial assistance from the government.
It is pertinent to note that as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, thousands of Pakistanis working abroad have returned home unemployed.
Registration has already begun on the Overseas Employment Cooperation website for redundant Pakistanis abroad.
