Another monsoon period hit large areas of the metropolis on Thursday, flooding main streets and low-lying areas and causing severe traffic jams on several of the city's main arteries.

Commuters were seen wading in knee-deep, chest-deep water in some areas, as vehicles were engulfed in torrential rains which added to traffic problems. Additionally, power outages occurred in many areas when K-Electric's power supplies tripped, suspending power.
