President Dr. Arif Alvi has said that development in the field of science and technology is an important need of the hour. However, the field of artificial intelligence is growing rapidly.
Addressing the convocation of Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering, Science and Technology in the Presidency, the President said that he congratulated the students for their outstanding performance. He said that teachers and parents play a key role in the success of students. He said that the graduates have to make their place successfully.
The development of technology has changed the overall situation, the development of science and technology needs time. He said Corona changed the economic and social lifestyle. The President said that there was a need to focus on the provision of education in line with modern challenges. We must educate our students according to the needs of the market. He said that access to e-learning system is more with less cost, it is time for educational institutions to work to make distance education system easier.
He said that Ghulam Ishaq Institute and other universities should increase the content of e-learning in their syllabi. The field of artificial intelligence is developing rapidly, he said. There are huge opportunities in the field of agriculture and medicine for education in the field of artificial intelligence in Pakistan. "Education based on the principles of social justice and fairness can play an important role in bringing about positive change in society," he said.
He said that feeling and reward are very important elements in a welfare state. He lamented that in the world now the principles are being formulated on the basis of mere interests instead of ethics as the process of wealth has increased. He said that we as a nation should not abandon ethics and principles in the development process and work to strengthen morals and ethical values at the individual national and international level.
He said that knowledge can be promoted in Pakistan through reduction in fees, vocational education and education in line with modern requirements. The President emphasized on education of women and said that We need to provide opportunities to truly utilize our capabilities. "If we meet the needs of all sections of society, including the weak and deprived, then Pakistan will develop," he said.
Providing opportunities for deserving students for higher education is very important. In this regard, the provision of scholarships by the government under the Ehsas program is an important step. On the occasion, the President also distributed medals among the students who have shown outstanding performance in various fields of Doctorate of Philosophy, Master of Science and Bachelor of Arts. Earlier, President of Society of Promotion of Engineering Sciences and Technology Farid Rehman, Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering, Rector of Science and Technology Jahangir Bashar and Proctor Academics Jamil Nabi also addressed the function.
