Pervez Hanif, Chairperson, Irpat Training Institute, has said that in order to eradicate poverty and sustainable development, Pakistan must also follow China's rural reforms. The target is number one, but Pakistan's progress in this direction has been extremely slow.

He expressed these views while addressing a seminar on providing employment in rural areas and increasing burden on cities. Other speakers also addressed the occasion. Pervez Hanif said that by launching the golden age of rural reform, China has achieved historic achievements in the field of poverty alleviation and this process continues even today.

Different policies have been adopted according to the objective conditions of different regions which are proving to be sustainable for the eradication of poverty. "We need to take steps to reduce poverty instead of reducing the number of poor people like China," he said. Gone which gives temporary relief but it does not last long.

The achievements made by China in the path of poverty alleviation are not only numerous but also sustainable due to the unique approach adopted by China to eradicate poverty. Pervez Hanif said that handloom carpet industry, livestock, handicrafts are the sectors under the patronage of the government which can not only bring about a revolution in the villages but also help in curbing the growing burden on the cities.
