A statement sent to the media from the IG Punjab's office said that the news on various TV channels and social media regarding the arrest of the accused was false and untrue.

"Such unconfirmed news not only affects the case but is also misleading to the public. The pictures of the accused and the woman being shared on social media are also false and fake."


"I request the media representatives not to run any news without confirmation and I also request the people to have faith in us. We will soon arrest the culprits and bring them to justice," he added.

On the other hand, Provincial Information Minister Fayyaz-ul-Hassan Chauhan in a statement on Saturday morning expressed hope that the case would be brought to a logical conclusion in a few hours and the rapists would be arrested.


Earlier, Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Gulzar Ahmed, while addressing the concluding session of a training workshop for judges of commercial courts at a local hotel in Lahore, expressed deep concern over the incident on the motorway and said that it was a shame that There was no security system or mechanism on the highway.
