Saudi Arabia builds world's largest water tunnel:

A seawater company has built a 12-and-a-half-kilometer-long tunnel that will supply Red Sea water to the people of Taif, Al-Baha and Ras.

Saudi Arabia has been moving towards new heights of development over the past few years. Now, once again, Saudi Arabia has surprised everyone by building the world's longest water tunnel. According to Al Arabiya News, the salt water purification corporation in Saudi Arabia has completed the project of the longest water pipe tunnel in the world.

After purifying the brackish water of the Red Sea, it will be supplied to the Taif Governorate, Al-Baha and the surrounding villages. The project for this water pipeline was started some time ago. The project involved digging a 12-and-a-half-kilometer tunnel measuring 8.4 meters in diameter. The project aims to bring clean water to strategic reservoirs in Taif to meet the water needs of the governorate and its southern villages.

The tunnel, which starts from Koh-i-Sarwat, a mountainous area with solid and hard rocks, has been dug out of the Alkar Valley in the Noman Valley. Thus the distance of the tunnel is 12.5 km and the diameter is 8.04 meters. It is considered to be the largest underground pipeline of its kind. The tunnel from Al-Hada Mountains to Taif Governorate was completed in a month. It is 12 and a half kilometers underground. If the pipeline were to be laid above ground level, it would be a 40-kilometer route. The UAE governor announced the completion of the project, saying that Saudi Arabia had the honor of completing the world's largest water supply line.
